Abstract
The creation of Cardwand marked the inception of a streamlined prepaid virtual card program, tailored to offer cardholders an effortless, account-free card management experience akin to physical prepaid cards. I led the UX design aiming for low-friction usability while ensuring compliance with finance industry regulations across multiple countries. Additionally, our secondary focus was to empower merchants with a no-code solution for personalized email distribution to cardholders.
Challenge
Developing a white-labeled prepaid virtual card system demanded simplicity akin to physical card usage, minus the need for user accounts or logins. Compliance with stringent finance industry regulations across various global regions posed an additional challenge.
Approach
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including compliance experts and developers, we prioritized a frictionless user experience for cardholders. Simultaneously, we sought to empower merchants with a no-code solution for email customization.
Solution
Cardwand streamlined access for cardholders, requiring only an email upon card issuance. Once registered, cardholders could conveniently manage their cards using the same initial email, ensuring a seamless experience.
